The increase in natural disasters has been intensified by climate change. This can lead to an acceleration of the hydrological cycle, increasing the intensity and frequency of extreme events. The theme of this article is the hydrological processes that cause disasters in the low course of the Taquari-Antas river basin, in the municipalities of Lajeado and Estrela, located in Vale do Taquari, RS. This study presents a record inventory of flood events in the municipalities of Estrela and Lajeado, over a period of 20 years, with the aim of identifying and spacializing natural disasters associated with hydrological processes. In the period between 2002 and 2022, there were 43 events of hydrological origin that caused damage. To address the data gap, this research presents a survey of information that resulted in the inventory and, together with the help of civil defense, it was possible to determine the levels of susceptibility in the neighborhoods, as a way of analyzing spatialization through susceptibility to flooding. Based on the cartographic information and data collected, it was possible to categorize susceptibility by neighborhood in each of the municipalities. The results present a temporal and spatial analysis of the occurrence of events caused by hydrological processes in the municipalities, which can be used in risk management actions.
