Ethics and education: reflections about teaching

This text focuses on the links between ethics and education, especially in relation to teaching practice. It is based on a position which recognizes the need for an ethical-moral reference to reconfigure the human world. It recognizes, though, the historical character of that reference. This position implies the necessity of making decisions in the face of the new configurations which are posed by contemporary life, in which the educational field can assume great relevance, if it allows the practice of criticism within the limits of school’s republican character.

Declaration of originality
We declare that all articles present in the journal Educação (UFSM) are originals and were not submitted for publishing on any other publication, as a whole or a fraction. We also declare that, after being published by Educação (UFSM), a paper will not be submitted to another journal within two years.
