This issue of Revista Sociais e Humanas is dedicated to the dialogue between Environmental Education and Rural Education—fields that converge in the construction of a critical education socially committed to the relationships among society, nature, territory, culture, and educational processes.
The articles gathered in this special dossier reflect the diversity of theoretical and methodological approaches within these fields, addressing issues related to environmental justice, educational practices, diverse territories and the knowledge and experiences generated within them, as well as the challenges arising from contemporary socio-environmental transformations.
By bringing together researchers, educators, and varied research perspectives, this edition reinforces the role of scientific production as a space for reflection, dialogue, and the collective construction of knowledge. In the face of social and environmental inequalities, discussing education also entails considering citizenship, sustainability, social justice, a sense of belonging, and the transformation of reality.
We hope the published works contribute to broadening the debate, stimulating new research, and strengthening practices aimed at building a more socially and environmentally just society.
