In this paper, we set ou to review the literature (Iedema, 2001; O’Halloran, 2004; Baldry e Thibault, 2007) in Multimodal discourse Analysis in search of categories for segmenting and analysing moving imagens in various genres. The purpose is to establish a comparative analysis across proposals and inform multilitearcies research and pedagogy regarding video texts. From our analysis, it became evident that there has been significant advance in the field, since the reviewed papers converge in proposing four analytical units – Frame, Shot, Scene, and Sequence. However, we have identified a few challenges to be adressed in future studies.Downloads
