Abstract

With his cientific publication, classes and lectures, Professor Reiner Hildebrandt-Stramann made a decisive contribution to the development of the pedagogy of the Brazilian movement. In the interview, he talks about his experience as a visiting professor in Brazilian universities, about his perceptions of changes in sports science in general and in the training of physical education teachers in particular in the last 35 years in Brazil and about the use of his knowledge acquired in Brazil for teaching and research at Braunschweig Technical University. It mentions the knowledge and skills that a physical education teacher should have at school and that should be taught in a university course. In this context, he focuses particularly on media pedagogical skills. For supporting the internationalization of universities, he was and is responsible for many international agreements between German and Brazilian universities or between German and Brazilian sports science.
