Abstract

Focusing on the object of teaching disciplines of Portuguese Language area in Letters Courses- Portuguese, in this article we aim at investigating how to setup and how it is characterized institutionally, pedagogically and theoretically, the area covered by the disciplines related to the teaching of Portuguese. This descriptive, comparative and interpretive research makes use of data from educational projects and is based on studies by Antunes (2003), Gerald (2003), Rojo (2000), among others. The disciplines discussed reveal approaches in the construction of the teaching object of Portuguese Language by different universities and linkages between teaching proposals and guidelines for national area.
