"Beyond the Pleasure Principle": monism or dualism of the drives?

The problem we face in this text is that of the need for Freudian drive dualisms, especially the one presented in “Beyond the Pleasure Principle”. This problem persists as a mark of the Freudian metapsychological Überbau and, from the point of view of this article, demands a more detailed analysis, in the sense of knowing, after all, whether this dualist mark of the theories is effectively sustained, or if, inadvertently, Freud may have created conditions for it to be questioned, and if so, in what way and in what sense.Downloads
