In France, students arrive at university without being sure of the relevance of their choice of higher education. During the first three years of their bachelor's degree, students must not only acculturate themselves to university education but also affirm their choice by consolidating or reconfiguring it. The teaching method based on narrating experiences, which is offered in bachelor's degree programmes, gives students the opportunity to reflect on their university experience and their personal and professional plans for the future. This article reports on an exploratory study conducted on this method, based on the theoretical framework of biographical research in education. The aim is to evaluate its effects and analyse the impact of narrating oneself and one's experience on the construction of an inner deliberation that allows one to revisit one's representations, on the one hand, and on the feeling of self-determination and personal efficacy, which contributes to the reconfiguration of personal and professional plans, on the other.
