Competências e habilidades necessárias para a formação de profissionais da engenharia aptos a atuarem de forma sustentável

Resumo

A pesquisa em educação do desenvolvimento sustentável reconheceu o valor da temática e seus avanços, o que oferece uma oportunidade para pesquisar e repensar o quão apropriadas e bem-sucedidas as práticas educacionais podem ser. No entanto, apesar da importância, há uma escassez de estudos que examinem a integração das competências e habilidades necessárias para a formação de profissionais da engenharia aptos a atuarem de forma sustentável. Diante dessa necessidade de pesquisa percebida, a finalidade deste artigo é apresentar as principais competências e habilidades fundamentais para um exercício profissional respaldado pela responsabilidade social, ética e sustentável. Para isso, foi utilizada uma síntese de estudos qualitativos de pesquisas realizadas na área. Os resultados demonstram que as metodologias ativas são ótimas alternativas para compatibilizar as disciplinas ao contexto de sustentabilidade, sua epistemologia e visão pluricultural. Por fim, constatou-se que o acadêmico deve ser reflexivo sobre seus valores, pois deve atuar profissionalmente como um provedor de soluções sociais sob a ótica da responsabilidade socioambiental, equitatividade, resiliência e postura sustentável.
