This work aims to explain the process of construction and organization of the UFSM Linguistic Corpus. We based our research on the studies of Halliday (1994), Halliday and Matthiessen (1999, 2004, 2014), and their followers to demonstrate the need for a well-structured and organized corpus in a systemic-functional analysis. Besides, we draw on Miller’s (2012) work to explain the genres chosen to make up the corpus. Corpus Linguistics (BICK, 1996; BERBER SARDINHA, 2004) provides the methodology for the process of tagging texts. Finally, we present the results obtained in the collection and tagging of UFSM Linguistic Corpus. In addition, we intend to share this corpus online.Downloads
