The present article aims to emphasize and discuss some important aspects of Schopenhauer's relationship with language, especially the philosopher's own use of language, and his observations about language in general and the German language in particular. The highlighted aspects are the specificity of philosophical language, the relationship between creative work and concept, the issues of translation and the learning of foreign languages, among others.
