Abstract

The topic studied is the main categories of the systematization of experiences for use as a methodology for training and research of education professionals. The objective is to develop a critical synthesis of the main categories of the systematization of experiences. The methodology is based on dialectical-materialist epistemology and the qualitative approach to research. The method is a literature review. The sources of information retrieval were the RedAlforja website and the references of previous works. The inclusion/exclusion criteria were two: a) the theoretical-methodological quality of the studies; b) their contribution or not to answer the question and the objective of the research. The results are a critical synthesis of the following categories of the systematization of experiences: 1) base theories; 2) conceptualization of systematization; 3) characteristics of systematization; 4) methodological routes; 5) ethics in systematization; 6) limitations of systematization. The authors update the concepts of each category and offer a list of references for further information and consultation on the topic. The conclusions summarize the answer to the question and the objective of the research, highlight the syntheses built on each of the categories studied, as well as the relevance of the systematization of experiences for the training of education professionals.
