A POESIA CRISTÃ FRANCESA NO SÉCULO XX E SUA RECEPÇÃO BRASILEIRA, NOTAS SOBRE TRADUÇÃO

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss some hypotheses why the literary reception in the Brazilian´s vanguards would have moved away from the practice of translating poetry, especially in face of some Christians French poets such as Claudel, Péguy and Jouve. Despite not having the spread of Blaise Cendrars, or the influence of Emile Verhaeren over Mario de Andrade, this tradition is accompanied by a poetic-religious importance. In this sense, a practice of translation of that poetry could enlarge the resonances between this tradition and the group of poets from the magazine Festa, indicating tendencies that were beside the Brazilian modernist project.
