Teoría de la mente, comprensión y experiencia del bullying en adolescentes con autismo: estudio cualitativo

Las personas en el espectro del autismo pueden ser más vulnerables a experiencias de bullying escolar debido a las características del trastorno, especialmente aquellas relacionadas con déficits sociales. Por lo tanto, esta investigación tuvo como objetivo realizar una investigación cualitativa de múltiples estudios de caso sobre la comprensión y la vivencia del bullying y sus relaciones con las capacidades de la Teoría de la Mente en cinco adolescentes con trastorno del espectro autista. Los adolescentes completaron tareas sobre Teoría de la Mente y percepción y experiencia de bullying escolar. Sus tutores completaron un cuestionario de Encuesta de Características Clínicas y Sociodemográficas. Los resultados demostraron que los participantes distinguieron la mayoría de conductas consideradas bullying o no bullying, con excepción de algunos que no diferenciaron bullying de agresión y no reconocieron la intimidación o el cyberbullying. El tipo de bullying más experimentado fue la exclusión social, seguida del verbal y físico. La conclusión es que parece haber una relación entre los constructos, pero se necesita una investigación más amplia, incluyendo otras variables que parecen ser relevantes en esta relación, como la edad, la educación y otras funciones cognitivas.
