The present research studied the effect of thinning intensity on the average and dominant height growth on a population of Pinus elliottii E., submitted to 4 thinning treatments: 25, 50 and 75 % of the witness basal area, and the witness with no thinning. The results Ci. Flor., Santa Maria, v.3, n.1, p. 171-184, 1993 obtained allow us to conclude that thinning intensity has an influence on the average height growth of Pinus elliottii E. however, it has no influence on the dominant height growth of this specie.
