Estudo numérico de desempenho de trocadores de calor solo-ar em cidades do Rio Grande do Sul

Earth-Air Heat Exchangers (EAHE) are equipment installed in buildings aiming the electrical energy consumption reduction of traditional air conditioners systems. Its operation principle is simple and consistsofburied ductswhere the air is forced to flow, being the soilresponsible for providing thermal exchanges and making the built environment temperature milder. This study shows the behaviour of a straight duct EAHE installed in three different cities of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul: Rio Grande, Novo Hamburgo and Ibirubá. By the end of the analysis, it was possible to infer that the best performance was reached at the location of Rio Grande, with a heating thermal potential (TP) of 6.51 °C and cooling TP of 5.95 °C. Besides that, one could notice that all regions were able to presented good thermal performance, justifying the EAHE use.

Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. Authors should not submit articles describing essentially the same research to more than one journal. The corresponding Author should ensure that there is a full consensus of all Co-authors in approving the final version of the paper and its submission for publication.
Editors: Editors should evaluate manuscripts exclusively on the basis of their academic merit.
