In this article we have an unusual contextualization of Schopenhauer's criticism to the nineteenth-century academic system with the contemporary reality of the Brazilian University life, demonstrating that their objections to the University establishment and their idiosyncrasies are fully applicable in our sociocultural context.Downloads
