SECULARISMO, PLURALISMO Y DERECHO DE LAS MINORÍAS

Resumen

El objetivo diste trabajo es presentar un concepto de pluralismo que haga que la participación política religiosa sea compatible con la protección de los derechos de las minorías. El problema radica en tratar de equilibrar una comprensión secular de la política, basada en la protección de los derechos y garantías fundamentales, evitando el racionalismo excesivo, por un lado, y, por otro lado, la intensa participación política de los grupos religiosos, que promueven nuevas demandas y problemas, aunque a veces se acercan a un cierto autoritarismo. El trabajo se desarrolla en base a una revisión de la literatura por autores como Connolly, Young, Modood, entre otros. La conclusión principal es que el impasse se puede trabajar a través de un concepto abierto, flexible y dinámico de pluralismo, en el que la relevancia política de las creencias religiosas coexiste con la tolerancia, la humildad epistémica y la apertura a la autocrítica continua.
