Between (auto)biography and autofiction: a narrative experience in training research

Abstract

This article presents the results of a study that aimed to understand the possibilities of narrative forms related to (auto)biographical approaches to music education. Thus, it questions how a music undergraduate internship report, produced in the form of a partially fictional narrative, can be thought of and worked on as an (auto)biographical tool for music education. In this context, it aims to situate this production in light of the research-training methodology. In methodological terms, the guiding lines of the research-training are outlined based on some authors who are references in (auto)biographical approaches in Education, the concept of autofiction and its relations with (auto)biographical narratives are discussed, and the production of the internship report is analyzed as a possible training research tool. As a result, reflections are provoked on the assumptions and possibilities of an (auto)biographical narrative in the context of music education, by highlighting characteristic aspects of the subjectivity of a subject-narrator.
