Education and Agroecology: notes about human formation experience in the SERTA course.

This article presents the elements about the theory and practice of the educational proposal of the technical course in agroecology of the Alternative Technology Service - SERTA. In the first moment, some elements of SERTA's teaching methodology are highlighted, in which an attempt is made to deepen the influence of popular education proposals, especially Paulo Freire's pedagogy. In the second moment, our supervised internship practice is presented, which was a moment of exchange of knowledge and learning regarding agroecology techniques and approximation of social struggle in the field. The purpose of the article is to bring up the educational philosophy and methodology of SERTA and its proposal for articulation with rural social movements in Northeast Brazil. Therefore, we highlight the importance that the course gives to the knowledge of the peasants in the constitution of agroecology, culminating in an education focused on human formation. In methodological terms, we treat our training experience in the course as a rich moment for reflections on popular education.
