The article examines the experience of a Continuing Education Program at a school in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. This program - which has been involving teachers from all levels and also school administrative and pedagogical staff, plus directive board since 2006 - has achieved success in using a virtual learning environment. The first section presents an argument for collective organization and investigative attitude, seen as crucial for the continuing education of teachers. In the second section the argument is enriched with theoretical expressions as Collective Thinking and Thinking Style proposed by Ludwik Fleck. The third part examines a strategy for the realization of the argument: the virtual environment. It is concluded that this strategy was crucial for the constitution of a collective of investigative teachers. The text is written in a sharing tone, from the viewpoint of those responsible for conducting and promoting this educational experience.Downloads
