Abstract

This experience report addresses the process of producing the bilingual documentary "Where the Sun Rises First” (Onde o Sol Nasce Primeiro), created by a group of students in an undergraduate course in the English Language Teaching program at UFCG. The project, grounded in post-method pedagogy (KUMARAVADIVELU 1994; 2001; 2012) and deep learning (FULLAN; QUINN; MCEACHEN, 2017) approaches, aimed to foster the development of linguistic skills, critical thinking, cultural awareness, creativity, and collaborative work. The activity also explored the feasibility of integrating audiovisual production into language teaching, utilizing networked educational technologies and active methodologies. Overall, the results of the experience were satisfactory, providing students with the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context, engage in collective work and in intercultural communication. It is concluded that the integration of digital technologies and active methodologies in teaching can make learning more meaningful and engaging, helping future teachers develop skills in technology use and cultural knowledge.
