Authors such as Roman Jakobson and Julio Plaza dedicated studies to discuss ideas and problems about intersemiotic translation. This perspective, understood as an intermedia dialogue of meanings, can serve as a basis for the readings and the reinterpretations discussions about the illuminated work of the English poet and painter William Blake. In this paper, we discuss briefly about the critical fortune on intersemiotic translation as well as suggest a methodology for the matter of interpretation of this kind of meaning generation, related to Blake’s illuminated works. Finally, we list a series of readings and reinterpretations of Blake’s oeuvre, performed in various media, pointing out to literary, musical and audiovisual examples.Downloads
