Resumen

El glucógeno es una fuente de energía para las acciones musculares. Las dietas ricas en hidratos de carbono permiten el almacenamiento y la disponibilidad de este glucógeno. Las dietas cetogénicas, a pesar de la reducción de las reservas de glucógeno, permiten que el cuerpo utilice la grasa corporal como sustrato. El objetivo fue identificar el cambio en la dieta puede influir en el rendimiento. Metodología: Se trata de una revisión sistemática en la base de datos PubMed. Resultados: Se encontraron 100 estudios. Cinco fueron seleccionados para componer este artículo. Conclusión: Este tipo de intervención dietética permite la pérdida de grasa corporal, mientras que el mantenimiento de la estructura muscular construido por la formación, sin sacrificar el rendimiento.
