This article addresses the inclusion of students with disabilities in Higher Education in Portugal, Brazil, and Mozambique. The aim was to map the scientific literature on this topic in the three countries, identifying the published studies, the most frequently addressed themes, and the gaps in the literature. A scoping review was conducted according to the methodological guidance of the Joanna Briggs Institute and reported in accordance with the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Searches were carried out in the Web of Science, Scopus, SciELO, and ERIC databases, considering peer-reviewed articles published between 2016 and 2025, available in full text, and meeting the eligibility criteria. Seventeen studies were included: 11 focused on Brazil, four on Portugal, and two compared Brazil and Portugal. No studies exclusively focused on Mozambican Higher Education were included. The most recurrent themes were access and retention, accessibility, support services, institutional and attitudinal barriers, professional training, and students’ academic experiences. It is concluded that the scientific literature has addressed inclusion mainly through the institutional, pedagogical, communicational, and relational conditions that influence students’ participation and retention, with a greater concentration of studies in the Brazilian context. Gaps remain regarding the Mozambican context, comparisons among the three countries, and the limited number of longitudinal, intervention-based, and evaluative studies.
