The article seeks to analyze Schopenhauer's neoclassicist position on architecture, which is rooted in the Vitruvian aesthetics reborn in modernity, marked by the importance given to symmetry for the constitution of forms in the work of art. It also deals with his rejection of Gothic architecture based on this neoclassical posture. It is worth verifying in what sense the attachment to the symmetrical rationality of architecture in the anti-Enlightenment philosophy of the philosopher of the blind and irrational Will is sustainable.
