The article presents reflections on the art-based educational research, focusing on the relevance of subjective data on art research raised through objects bearing autobiographical senses and meanings. It is part of a work in a group of studies, research and education conducted in the realm of a research project on teacher’s education in Visual Arts, culminating in an exhibition entitled ‘Memory of Things: visual tessiture of teaching trajectories’. This approach has allowed us to also address the processes of construction of the identity of the teacher, artist and researcher subject, using procedures and strategies from the art itself.
