The present work shows a quantitative and qualitative study with a descriptive type that it had as an objective to investigate the basic knowlegde that the adolescentes possess about sexuality, as they acquired them and as they make use of them on their daily lives and to identify how the high school biology teacher approaches the sexual orientation subject on their classes. The school concern with the students’ sexual orientation must be rewrite at school because it’s known that the adolescents don’t have enough information about sexuality and their parents don’t even talk to them about this subject. And the school not always gets to become students aware of the importance with the body care. Every student has tha right of being guided correctly about their sexuality and it’s a responsability of a biology teacher not only approach the body on its biological aspects, but also approach their emotions and feelings, so that starting from this context the students can manage their sexuality carefully and safety. For the collection of data, an interview was used, answered by Third grade students of five public high schools of São Luiz Gonzaga / RS, in age among 15 and 21 years and their respective biology teachers. The result indicates that there are among the students a lot of non appropriate ideas about sexuality. The teachers recognize the importance of developing subjects related to sexuality, but not always feel prepared for this task. It’s necessary to the teachers and school to think over their practices to help the students.Downloads
