Two views on difference: ensay about educational short films

Abstract

This is an article, derived from an evaluation activity, in which undergraduate pedagogy students created short films on the theme of difference. The objective is, fed by theoretical references of phenomenology and philosophy of difference, carry out their descriptions and present reflections on the conceptions of difference presented in their creations. The elaboration methodology is based on a detailed description of the short films with the aim of presenting them to those who did not fulfill their expectations. The constituent steps of this work were built by the selection of short films, several telespections and their understandings and analyses. In terms of results, the first short film presents a series of sensory stimuli involving: strident and/or low-pitched sounds, silence, the absence of an image and/or its presentation in a blurry way; in a mixture of deprivation and/or enhancement of the senses. The second: reveals the internal universe of a young person with autism, with discriminatory experiences and outputs, which serve as an aid to interiorization and/or an outlet for the excess of audiovisual stimuli assimilated due to their condition. The third: (Trans) verse, shows images of transgender young people who crave the right to exercise difference. By way of conclusion, it is understood that the three productions establish an objective relationship in terms of approaching difference, exposing it in bare scenes that underline, relativize, or simply describe it.
