Abstract

The following articule discusses the ruptures between formal school and the pedagogy of social movements such as the MST (Movement of Landless W orkers). It intends to draw attention to the possibility of formal schools to recognize in their political projects the possibilities of change that is offered by social movements. It also tries to rescue some approaches that would define what exactly means the social movements and their teaching practices, with reference to the Movement of Landless W orkers (MST). It is supposed that this knowledge can be learned through formal schooling, enriching their reading and writing the world.
