Abstract

This article presents an analysis of Veronica film, 2009, which presents a teacher of public system of Rio de Janeiro as heroine. From the critical discourse analysis proposed by Fairclough (2001), and applied to films in this work, approach to the characterization of the teacher and the film's plot, in order to discuss issues related to addressing and identification strategies aimed at teachers-viewers. But also to relate such strategies to the social practices of the producer and the project sponsors. From the analysis performed, it was observed that social conformity was one of the main values to be addressed/identified to/by teachers-viewers as the reiteration of negative practices related to teaching. Concluding, at end , the heroism of the teacher has nothing to do with school or education.
