Educational games are strategies that contribute to the teaching and learning process, where knowledge is shared in a playful and interactive way, in the most varied areas and with different target audiences. In nursing education, games can help develop clinical reasoning and understand content more easily. In this scenario, this methodological study, of technological production, was developed, with the objective of describing the construction and validation of content and appearance of an educational game, developed to assist in the teaching-learning process of the Systematization of Nursing Care and the Nursing Process Nursing. The study was developed in three stages: immersion/ideation, conception and validation. The participants were 10 nursing professors, who made up the game's content and appearance validation committee. In the immersion/ideation stage, the need to develop an educational game was identified and a scoping review was carried out, the body of analysis of which included 19 articles, originating ideas about the game format. In the conception, it was decided to create a board game, called PEnsa or SAE. At this stage, the following were also defined: aesthetics, history, learning, mechanics, technology and game theme. In the validation stage, the game's content and appearance were validated by a committee of experts in two rounds of evaluation. From this study, it is observed that the creation of an educational game requires knowledge on the topic, well-defined objectives, methodological rigor, valid content and a commitment to monitoring the constant evolution of information, always valuing the quality of pedagogical practice.
