Abstract

The article presents the main results of a research project whose objective was to optimize the storage and recovery of data from professors of higher education courses at Federal Institute of Santa Catarina - IFC - Videira, available on the institution's website. To this end, a web tool was developed that allows analytical consultations to be carried out online – called OLAP – Online Analytical Processing, enabling detailed visualization of the profile of professors on undergraduate courses, such as the number of professors, training and titles, among others. others. In previous projects, other applications were created aimed at technical, postgraduate and undergraduate courses, focusing on the students' profile, complementing the current tool, which is more focused on teacher data.  The web tool helps managers, such as coordinators and directors, in making strategic decisions. For example, defining external educational policies for the ongoing training of teachers or implementing strategies for teachers to remain in the institution. Several tests were carried out with the tool, highlighting the results on the teachers' profile, which can be consulted at different levels of granularity. An example of a query would be visualizing the number of teachers per course, area of ​​activity and training in a given year. Furthermore, data mining techniques were applied to generate association rules that identify patterns, avoiding a significant increase in records and the possibility of obtaining more accurate and relevant results over time.
