Abstract

The objective of this article is to situate transmedia storytelling as a significant transdisciplinary production with formative potential, directed both to the teaching-learning process and to the development of teachers. To achieve such a purpose, transdisciplinarity (NICOLESCU, 2000; MORAES, 2008; D'AMBROSIO, 2012), and transmedia storytelling (JENKINS, 2006; FREIRE, 2020), as core concepts, are initially discussed. Starting from this individualized theoretical overview, and stressing the conceptual identity of each construct, they are then articulated from the perspective of the complexity epistemology (MORIN, 2005ab, 2015), emphasizing the potential that emerges from this connection for student and teacher education, as well as reflecting upon the theoretical-practical implications of this feasible correlation.
