This article analyzes the way in which diversity is presented in discourses about Uruguayan education between 2006 and 2008. In this scenario, linguistic nationalism and purism coexist with discourses and policies on diversity, which is only accepted within the framework of nationalism and literacy. Three documents are considered for analysis: a text on the Education Debate, a text by the Language Policy for Public Education Committee, and the National Law for Education.Downloads
