Ciclismo Mountain bike (MTB) en la pandemia COVID-19: niveles auto informados de salud y rendimento

Resumen

Se realizó una descripción del perfil auto informado de ciclistas adultos, practicantes de MTB, en cuanto a motivaciones, características y experiencia en el deporte, sobrepeso y obesidad evaluados por el índice de masa corporal (IMC), ocurrencia de dolor, tiempo de sueño, nivel de intensidad durante la práctica de MTB, flexibilidad auto percibida y resistencia física general. Se trata de un estudio descriptivo con enfoque mixto, que incluyó a 23 ciclistas, con edades comprendidas entre los 33 y los 72 años. Respondieron un cuestionario durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Los resultados y conclusiones indican que las motivaciones en MTB se originan en la infancia y la adolescencia, por el estímulo grupal o por amigos y familiares. Las tasas de sobrepeso / obesidad y dolor fueron elevadas, superiores al 70 y 50% respectivamente. Solo el 17,4% de los ciclistas lograron dormir 7 horas o más por la noche. Las ocurrencias de baja flexibilidad (inesperadas) y resistencia física general baja / moderada excedieron el 40%.
