Abstract

Resiliency is a concept that has currently taken on great importance in the education of youth and high risk social groups, or those who are subject to high levels of distructuring and stress. More than an innovation in psychology, it is a concept that represents the renewal of interest in an existent but neglected reality. Resilience is part of a developmental perspective in life, based on a continuum of adjustments which individuals need to make in developing skills when facing daily difficulties and their capacity to overcome these. Therefore, competence is extremely important for the programs to promote educational resilience.
