In this work it was compared the sampling method of fixed area, relascopie and six trees, across the canon of relative efficiency. The study was realized in Pinus taeda L. stand for a maximum error admitted of 10% of middle volume and 95% of probability. The results showed to be more efficient the inventory conduced with sample units of fixed area; while the relascopie method reached 80% and the six trees 60% of efficiency in the relation to the first, have been rising, respectivelly, 9, 13 and 31 units of samples, and totalizing 228; 326 and 336 minutes to reach the fixed precision.
