Abstract

We use meteorological data measured from march 2005 todecember 2008 at a tower breilt in Caxiuanã Reserve from Pará, toinvestigate evaporative demand variability in a forest tropical environment. The results show that for the year of 2005, when a great drought happenedin Western Amazon, at Caxiuanã Reserve the evaporative demand hasbeen greater than its mean value during the wet season and has beenlower than its mean value during the dry season, during extreme eventoccurrence.
