This article presents a scientific overview about COVID-19 pandemic, discusses bioethical questions which emerge from the current context and assesses possible answers to these questions. Firstly we present medical and pharmacological community's literature on efficient treatments against the disease and then gather public data about public health from Brazilian government websites. Then we investigate (bio)ethical questions about these facts. A short discussion about Beauchamp and Childress' principlism was made. We concluded that some of Brazilian governors’ measures in favor of social isolation are morally justified. It is considered that ongoing clinical pharmacological trials with human beings are morally permissible as long as patient’s autonomy is ensured and risk-benefits analysis is positive. Lastly, we show the relationship between science and philosophy in the ethical, political and biomedical fields.Downloads
