The aim is to show, from the thought of Keiji Nishitani, the presuppositions for the discussion about "empty-knowledge" and that it goes through the problem of nihilism and emptiness in his philosophy. The problem of nihilism in Nishitani, unlike the perspective adopted by Western philosophers, is not linked to the idea that the Self in facing Nothing loses its foundations and its existence, ceasing to have a meaning. On the contrary, it is in the encounter with Nothing that man can discover and come into contact with his true essence, since it is in that encounter that his existence is revealed. This would be possible if the Self realizes a process of self-opening, a jump into the Emptiness (Sunyata), so that its true face will reveal itself and it will find its true being. We intend to develop these unfolding throughout this article.
