Abstract

This is not a study on gender identity, nor do we intend to discuss the complex concept of chromosomal and anatomical sex. Our intention is much more humble: to assess the ability of minors to self-determine for consent to a medical act in general and for the self-determination of gender identity in particular, confronting the coherence between both regimes. Along the way, accidental considerations arise about the expression of gender, but we do not deviate from our route, which consists of meditating on the right of minors to self-determination and measuring the concept of autonomy and capacity to act.
