The debate about the nationalization of educational sistem in Vargas Era

The article focuses on the debate about the nationalization of education system in Vargas Era. At first, the debate priorized the discussion about educational organization and the capacity of federative Government to promote it. So the question was: What´s State for? During the Authoritary Government, the central question was: education for what? Finally, at 1950 decade, the end of war and democratic context in Brasil, highlights the fundamental question nowadays: public education for whom?
