Abstract

This article investigates the creation of the Lancasterian School of mutual teaching, which was established in Montevideo, in 1821, under the auspices of the Lancasterian Society. In that period, Sacramento Colony, the named Cisplatine Province, was parte for Braziliam Empire. Such establishement constituted onde of the first creation acts of a oficial teaching sistem base don the mutual teaching method in Brazilian Empire.
