We have seen a huge investment in technological resources in education recently. It is internationally recognized that Portugal is one of the European leaders in making technology accessible to schools. However, there is doubt in regards to the effectiveness and efficiency of these investments. When evaluating technological projects, problems in teachers’ education and in the methodologies are often found. This paper aims to provide a better understanding about the true role of technology in education and also to present some guidance so that its integration can occur within a higher level of educational intentionality.Downloads
