This work proposes a chronotopic and spatio-topical analysis of cyberpunk manga, seeking to identify aesthetic-discursive procedures that help to understand how the genre expresses the implications of progress on society, especially regarding the informational explosion translated by the idea of technological singularity. In The ghost in the shell, this explosion manifests itself graphically through visually polluted urban scenarios and abstract schemes that attempt to represent mental processes in cybernetic environments. The juxtaposition of these two levels ultimately indicates a progressive integration of trans/post-human beings into the physical (city) and virtual (net) environment in which they are fatally embedded.
