Solidarity phone in the covid-19 pandemy time: a gesture of love and empathy

Considering the 2019 Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic, individuals with chronic comorbidities have been showing worse outcomes. Patients with heart disease or chronic neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease end up becoming more vulnerable. This population is in social isolation, which ends up favoring physical inactivity and avoiding specific physiotherapeutic support projects for each disease. In this case, measures that can adapt to a direction and support to this group should be encouraged in order to assist the physical preservation and quality of life of this population. Given this scenario, the voluntary work “solidary phone connection” appears as an example of citizenship and solidarity during the pandemic and times of crisis, aiming to monitor the general state of health, quality of life, encourage the practice of activities already known and appropriate to each case, and conduct educational conversations regarding preventive care to COVID-19.
