Inovação e concentração de mercado: uma análise setorial da PINTEC

Resumen

Este artigo analisa a relação entre inovação e concentração de mercado, denominada de Hipótese Schumpeteriana. Diversas variáveis da PINTEC (2008, 2011, 2014 e 2017) são utilizadas para definir as inovações em função da concentração de mercado para a Indústria de Transformação. Utiliza-se a participação de empresas inovadoras, a participação de empresas com inovação em produto ou processo, a participação de empresas com inovações organizacionais e o valor médio do dispêndio em atividades de inovação. A concentração de mercado é verificada por meio da participação das quatro maiores empresas no emprego total do setor (C4), o Índice de Lerner e a participação da mão de obra com ensino superior no emprego total do setor. Utilizam-se estimativas com dados em painel para cada variável de inovação em função da concentração de mercado. Os resultados estimados mostram diferença entre o percentual de empresas com inovação em produto ou processo e as empresas com inovações organizacionais em relação à concentração de mercado.
