ROOT DEFORMATION ON PLANTED SEEDLING OF Pinus teada L. COMPARED TO THE ONES OBTAINED FROM DIRECT SOWING

This work analyse direct sowing, as an establishment tecnique, for Pinus teada, comparativelly with planted seedling of the same age, considering root system structure evaluation. The root system morphology, developed from seeds in place, presented no deformation while those developed from planted seedlings, showed bad horizontal distribution and lateral root deformation, which could effect future development.
