Aerated concrete (AC) is a lightweight cementitious material whose porous structure is achieved through the controlled addition of foaming or gas-generating agents to the mixture, resulting in low density and advantageous thermal and acoustic properties. This study proposes the use of rice husk ash (RHA) as a partial replacement for conventional fine aggregate, aiming to reduce the environmental impact of sand extraction and the improper disposal of agro-industrial waste. Although the production of RHA is beneficial as a source of renewable energy, it generates large volumes of waste that still lack proper disposal. In this context, incorporating RHA into lightweight concrete emerges as a technically and environmentally viable alternative. Cellular concrete blocks were molded using different foaming agents — hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and high-purity aluminum (Al) — to compare their behavior in air bubble formation and distribution. The results aim to contribute to the development of more sustainable construction solutions by utilizing abundant waste materials and minimizing the exploitation of natural resources.
